Originally owned by the Openheimer family, the property was purchased in 1986 and remained the private residence of the current owners, John and Anna Thacker, until the establishment of Fairlawns as a Boutique Hotel in 1998. A forerunner in creating spacious bathrooms, individually themed suites and even the name Boutique, which at the time was not the popular nomenclature it is today, Fairlawns has been at the forefront of a different offering in hospitality.

It was exceptional. The whole experience was better than expected. Primarily, the staff were first class. Everyone had a smile on their face, the service was faultless. Your former manor is elegant, and your staff are universally charming and professional. But they are also low-friction in that things simply worked. The restaurant was a daily treat.
